After my run-in with the "fly-by bunny" I decided I needed a non-human avatar for a change. I ran across this avatar on "Second Life of My Dreams" and had to visit this avatar store. They had so many wonderful creations. I ultimately settled on this cool fish in a rocket ship bowl. I love how the pink of the fish matches my studio. :-) I even have a teeny treasure chest, starfish and chess game in the bowl. So many cool details. The store is owned by Yeti Bing and Yoa Ogee. If you're bored with your regular avatar, this store has something different for you. :-)

When Bunnies Fly?

Hanging out in my Artropolis studio the other night, I happened to see a bunny fly by. I'd never witnessed a "bunny fly-by" so I invited him to stay awhile. He dropped in and we ended up dancing and talking for a good bit. I loved his avatar, so cute. :-)

The Virtual Artist Alliance Group puts on PhotoHunt every Thursday. It's a great game that all creatives would enjoy. They give you a theme and or landmark and you have an hour to take one photo that has been taken at the space that was chosen. This week the place was: Privateer Space (188, 181, 26). The theme was: Explore the Reaches of Space. Then all participants or people at the event get to vote. Join Virtual Artist Alliance to receive notices of the next contest.

New Gallery for SL Artists

I read over at Shoshanna's Musings where she has opened a gallery for new artists in SL that are 90 days or younger and are not showing their art anywhere else in SL. She will allow new artists to stay for 3 months then rotate out. Sounds like a good opportunity for starving artists in world. Go check it out.

Second Life Dumpster Exhibit

I read about this exhibit on the Virtual Artist Alliance blog and it sounds intriguing. It's an art project called, "SL Dumpster". An artist group called eteam wants you to come leave your SL trash on their land. They take pictures and blog about the project here. In reading the beginning and the evolution of the dumpster site it really makes you think about RL waste and "where does it all go?". Hopefully you will visit and leave some trash of you own.

Mossie in Artropolis!

As I mentioned earlier in the blog, I finally have a studio space in Artropolis!

I wanted to show "before" and "after" photos to have a record of progress. In the second and third photos you can also see where I'm located in relation to other nearby Artropolis artists: Filthy Fluno (Lower Left), RAG Randt (Top Center), and IanLee Patton (Lower Right). I'm so excited to be here as I've been a fan of the sim for some time.

Mossie Design Studio New Location!

Mossie Design Studio has a new location in Kinningly! I sold my 1024 plot of land in Solchan and found a great small location with a wonderful view! If you look at my classified ad in my profile, you can find the location there. I'm on the water and look out toward the sim of Knowlesworth with a beautiful beach and art community over there. Come by and visit!

[NEWS: In the coming month, if everything goes as planned I will also have a studio in Artropolis! I'll post some photos as that project gets underway.]

Van Gogh's Starry Night

I found this on Natalia Zelmanov's blog and had to share this as well. Natalia's Second Life Diary. The exhibit is a virtual one that your avatar can walk into Van Gogh's paintings! Exhibiting at the Angel Dorei Museum!

This is the beautiful Angel Dorei Museum that I get to exhibit, along with other talented Second Life artists: Yo Korobase,
Artistic Fimicoloud, Lamorna Proctor, Charlot Dickins and Esch Snoats! The exhibit will be Thursday, May 31 at 5pm SL time, come by and say "Hi!"

When I first built my gallery around December of 2006, I had an informal meeting with numerous SL artists that came to see my work after I sent out a notice through one of my art groups. There I met IanLee Patton :-). His avatar was a "tiny", a miniature avatar that looked like a little person in a rabbit suit. I remembered him well. He's a fellow artist and art lover and asked recently if I would like to exhibit at the Angel Dorei Museum. It didn't take much to convince me, I'm always open to exhibiting my work and to be able to show at such an amazing build as this is really special.

These are my works on the back wall as soon as you walk up the steps and enter the museum. I'm honored to have such a great space to display. This sim is incredible with so much to see! Definitely worth a visit for the amazing beauty and for the artwork as well.

Mossie Design Studio Expands!

Here's a shot of the newly expanded Mossie Design Studio & Gallery in Solchan! I look a lot bigger than I am because my neighbor's gallery is now connected to mine with a similar design. But I do have an addition 512 plot in front of my original space. My neighbor is a RL muralist that sells his designs in SL as well. Search "Mossie" in the classifieds or in "places". We are having a grand reopening on May 17 thru 23. The time is 3pm SL time to 6pm. Come by and see our little art commune in Solchan!

Having Tea in Caledon

This is The Gallery Tamrannoch of Caldeon at #7 Tam Street owned by Miss Autopilotpatty Poppy, a mixed media artist & photographer in RL and SL. I had the pleasure of meeting her after a visit to her gallery today. It is in Caledon, a Victorian themed sim. A very pleasant experience with so much to look at.

This is a shot through her front window while I had tea with Miss Poppy and another art lover who we met while chatting in the gallery. It was nice sitting in front of the big picture window and watching the scenery along with a steam engine trolley going by out front.

Miss Poppy first exhibited at New World Artists. Vlad Bjornson was kind enough to offer her space for a couple of her pieces. From there she had other art gallery owners, like Enjah Mysterio and Osprey Therian become interested in her art. Vlad Bjornson also has her work on display in his gallery, New World Gallery. She is currently exhibiting at Vanbeeck Gallery at Ruttan Lane Galleries in Cetus, The Second Louvre and the Grand Stair Gallery in Shubelik. Her work is for sale in RL, too. Prints only at this time. Just IM her and let her know what you are interested in. You will find Miss Poppy's work to be beautiful and reasonable.

A visit to the The Gallery Tamrannoch of Caldeon at #7 Tam Street is a very relaxing and rewarding experience for the art and the company. Go by and give Miss Poppy a visit, and have a cup of tea!

Sonia Stardust Gallery in Citrago

Found this gallery by Sonia Stardust in Citrago and I had to blog about it. It's the neatest gallery, selling her cartoon panels she calls "ornaglyphs" that you can buy separately for 25L or the whole collection for 250L. What's great is you can choose own grouping and use your own interpretations of each panel. The artwork just screams out at you from the windows, you can't help but go in.

Free Places To Promote Your SL Business

Looking to promote your product or business and don't have the lindens for much advertising or promotion? Use the free yardsales in Second Life to place products or even a landmark or notecard giver to direct people to your business. I'm going to highlight some free spaces that I use and I will list the prims allowed and the dos and don'ts. All have their own rules so you want to check with them before you place your items.

This is a free yardsale area at SkidPrimz at Snowcrash. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Snow%20Crash/102/103/22 Even if you're only allowed 5 prims on your square, it's a cool spot to place your stuff. Most free sales allow you one square, first come, first served, and anywhere from 5 to 25 prims. The spots are then cleared once or twice a week depending on the spot. And you start all over again :-).

This is a close up of my spot and shows a closer view of the yard. You can see (or just trust me) my five prims. My sign and four t-shirts (one prim a piece) placed on all sides of the square. PMG Cafe Art Opening

This is me contemplating my watercolor piece "Bugs" in the new PMG Cafe. PMG Cafe is a great place to relax, and hang out with friends and get away from the loud clubs in SL. It's a nice chillout spot if you're looking for an alternate to the club environment. I have 5 pieces hanging there this weekend.
